Today, I was alone with a work acquaintance at lunch. A noise came from his pocket; he whipped out his iPod Touch and said “Sorry, I have to take this,” before walking away with the iPod to his ear. Not only did he not want to talk to me, he thought I was stupid enough to confuse an iPod with a phone. FMLI know I haven’t posted in forever, but I felt this needed to be reblogged.
That’s called an iPhone, you fucking idiot. They look alarmingly like iPod touches, only there’s a phone in them. Welcome to the 21st century, you tool.
Why do people always assume that everyone else is more stupid than themselves?
I don’t know anyone who sees an iPhone and automatically thinks “iPod Touch!” The iPhone was released first, and my brain typically shouts iPhone. The only time I ever distinguish, “Hey, that’s an iPod, not a phone,” is when I see the silver back to it, or I glimpse the headphone jack. iPhone’s got the headphone jack on top, iPod Touch on the bottom.
Anyway, lets assume this person is in fact smart enough to have the job they mention, and they’re not the retard at Kroger who bags your groceries. Clearly they’re smart enough to post something on FML. Why would this person be so convinced it was an iPod Touch without evidence? They had to see something. If the guy had a case for his phone, I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. But if a guy pulls out an “iPhone” with a silver back, I’m calling foul.
P.S.- They even make apps for the iPod Touch that have a timer, and when the timer goes off, your iPod will ring and mimic the iPhone incoming call screen.
So BOOYAH. Don’t be so judgemental next time.
